Community Connections

Through the Montclair Pet & Wildlife Fund, Montclair Veterinary Hospital provides free and discounted services to local school groups and educational organizations as well as pet rescue societies. We work with other local leaders to bring educational opportunities to the members of the East Bay community.

Vet Care for Rescued Animals

Montclair Veterinary Hospital works with organizations such as Oakland and Piedmont Animal Control and Children's Fairyland to provide excellent medical care for their animals. We also work with pet rescue organizations to provide discounted medical and surgical services to animals in search of loving homes.

Community Events

You'll find the friendly staff of Montclair Veterinary Hospital helping out at the Oakland Zoo's "Bark in the Park," the Montclair Village Jazz and Wine Festival and Smiley Dog Rescue's "Santa Paws" benefit (featuring Dr. Gary Richter as Santa).

"Your Pet's Health"

In addition, our informational newspaper columns provide a veterinarian's view and share guidance about pet and wildlife care. Look for "Your Pet's Health" in the Oakland Tribune and "The Pet Doctor" in the Montclarion.

Educational Programs

The doctors and staff of MVH are happy to provide educational programs to schools and special interest groups. Topics range from dog and cat care to exotic pets to how to handle injured wildlife.

Please contact us if you are interested in arranging an educational program. Please send e-mails to
